Jesus washes disciples' feet

Discipleship for those wanting to follow Jesus

As a minister of the Gospel, I serve as associate pastor at the Mission Blvd. Baptist Church in Fayetteville, AR, and as president of the Leadership Training Institute of America (LTIA). My mission field for thirty years has emphasized reaching and discipling college students through our Collegiate Discipleship Ministry (CDM). It is in this extreme environment of hedonistic humanism that I offer a loving and Biblical world view ministry of apologetics, evangelism, and discipleship. My efforts to fulfill the great commission have been to win the lost to Christ and to train them to do likewise.

I follow what I see in the Bible, namely, a map to train disciples beginning with the first and great commandment to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind. This requires developing disciplines and skills to use the resources of the Word of God, the Spirit of God, and the church of God. The second commandment to love others as ourselves is achieved by learning how to effectively communicate the Gospel to the lost, how to help untrained Christians establish themselves in habits essential for spiritual growth, how to help disciples become productive members of their churches, and then help them become leaders who can train more disciples by developing in doctrine, character, and skills.

I am always looking for more disciples to train, and so I connect with as many people as I can, and I offer my training lessons and counsel to help anyone who wants to take advantage of our ministry. LTIA offers Biblical world view training in apologetics, networking, leadership skills, community ministry, and critical thinking development. We meet for one week in June every year in Washington D.C. to take advantage of the Capitol and monument tours and meetings with national leaders. CDM is our college ministry at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. If you know of students attending the UA, please ask them to contact us.

If you visit Fayetteville, please contact us to join a study group, come to church, talk about discipleship and apologetics, discuss creation science, etc. Also check out our resource page of links to training materials. They are free to download and use.

Sincerely in Christ,

Messages for Church Signs

Posted by CDM on December 22, 2011

Its ok to say Merry Christmas here.
Merry ____mas just isn’t the same without Christ.
Jesus is the reason for the season.
Mary wrapped the first Christmas gift.
Jesus has a gift for you. Will you accept it?
Jesus was born that we might be born again.
All we want for Christmas is your presence.
Happy birthday Jesus.

You can’t enter heaven until Jesus enters you.
Well, you asked for a sign, so, here it is.
Our Sundays are better than Brams’.
The only way up is down on your knees.
You’re not too bad to come in, and you’re not too good to stay out.

Does life stink? We have a pew for you.
Exposure to the Son may prevent burning.
You have one new friend request: confirm or ignore?
“No God — No Peace. Know God — Know Peace.”
“Free Trip to heaven. Details Inside!”
Smoking or Non-smoking?
“If you’re headed in the wrong direction, God allows U-turns.”
“If you don’t like the way you were born, try being born again.”
“In the dark? Follow the Son.”

God’s saving plan is to die for.
God’s saving plan is out of this world.
God’s saving plan is for keeps.
God’s saving plan comes with a lifetime guarantee.

“Searching for a new look? Have your faith lifted here!”
Feeling down? Look up.
The best vitamin for a Christian is B1.
Will anyone be in heaven because of you?
“People are like tea bags — you have to put them in hot water before you know how strong they are.”
“Fight truth decay — study the Bible daily.”
Our church is prayer-conditioned.

Silence is golden, duct tape is silver.
Adam blamed Eve, Eve blamed the snake, and the snake didn’t have a leg to stand on.
Swallowing pride will never give you indigestion.

Some questions can’t be answered by Google.
Walmart is not the only place to save.
You’ll save more here than at Walmart.
There’s more to save than money.
Save more, live better.

The rapture: when God separates church and state.

Internet Evangelism Effective

Posted by CDM on December 14, 2011

Internet evangelism reaches the world meets needs

Over half of those who made a decision for Jesus over the Internet have subsequently shared their faith with others, Global Media Outreach’s study reveals.

34 percent read their Bibles daily and nearly half pray for at least 10 minutes a day.

The study, called the Christian Growth Index, measured the responses of more than 100,000 people from around the world.

Fifty-one percent of those surveyed said they shared their faith three times or more and 37 percent said they shared their faith at least once or twice.

Global Media Outreach is a global ministry that presents the Gospel online through websites such as WhoisJesus-Really.com and GrowinginChrist.com. There are more than 5,500 trained online missionaries worldwide who respond to questions asked by seekers through emails.

Q and A with an atheist

Posted by CDM on August 19, 2011

Answer my questions about God, and I still won't believe.

This exchange is submitted for your interest in atheists’ tactics. Notice the smug, condescending tone and subtle insults that ooze with arrogance and a self-righteousness as the letter begins. He attempts to coerce an answer by implying that any difficulty or failure to answer his questions of concern is God’s failure to provide an answer. The gauntlet has been thrown down, and now God’s very existence rests upon your shoulders by how you answer the following questions to the atheist’s satisfaction. He, not God, will determine if you have passed the test. Ah, the vanity of it all. Are you shaking and quivering in your boots from the manipulative intimidation?

Dear Preacher/Pastor/Teacher/Sir/Ma’am,

[my answer: He sent this note addressed to a male pastor, but begins with a thin disguise of ignorance to whom he is writing. Perhaps this is just a generic copy-paste job he indiscriminately sends to pastors? It is not uncommon for atheists to harass Christians with copy-paste questions.]

I would like to ask a few questions regarding your religion and beliefs. I would appreciate if you replied back with whatever you feel. My name is _______ __________, and I am an Atheist.

[my answer: I left his name out to avoid embarrassment. Some day, he may regret being associated with this letter. It turns out that this atheist is on Facebook Read the rest of this entry »
